First Colored World Series

First Colored World Series, Kansas City Monarchs and Hilldale Daisies, Muehlebach Park, Kansas City Missouri, October 11, 1924.

The handwritten caption suggests that this panoramic image was taken at the start of the series but it was actually shot before Game 5, when the contest moved to Kansas City.

Several future Hall of Famers played in the series, including the Monarchs' "Bullet" Joe Rogan, pitcher, and Jose Mendez, pitcher and shortstop; and Hilldale shortstop (and later star catcher) Biz Mackey.
