The Class-Act Baseball Fans of 1925
World Series, Game 4 at Griffith Stadium, October 11, 1925
The Washington Senators returned to the World Series to defend their title and the fans were in high spirits with the home team up two games to one when this picture was taken. But their mood soured as the Pittsburgh Pirates charged back to capture the series in seven games.
Notice the fans: all men wearing suit coats and fedoras or newsboy hats. The food vendor is front and center and everyone is acting cool, calm and dignified as the photographer takes his shot.
