Center fielder Hack Wilson, manager and second baseman Rogers Hornsby and right fielder Kiki Cuyler were still in the hunt for the National League pennant at the end of the 1930 season until finishing two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals.

But what a season it was: Wilson belted in a staggering 191 runs (originally counted as 190) and hit 56 home runs while Cuyler posted a .355 batting average.
