Baseball in Your Back Pocket
Playmaker Journal was partly inspired by old-time baseball yearbooks that are no longer published.
They were produced and distributed by the Hillerich & Bradsby Company of Louisville, Kentucky, known for their world famous Louisville Slugger baseball bats.
Inside these pocket-sized yearbooks there are tips and advice on batting, various baseball stats and diagrams, records of "leading batsmen," ballpark dimensions, a game-by-game summary of the most recent World Series, an illustrated catalog of bats (the most expensive one is $2.75), and a back-page ad for The Sporting News.
